Part 1:
No one knew what caused it. No one knew why it happened. All anyone knew was that the alarm for unknown Quirk usage on campus was triggered. No source was found. No damages and no residue was found. The alarm was written off as a malfunction in the sensors. The monitors would regret that come morning.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It takes two hours into the bodyswap for Izuku to figure out how to work Aizawa's quirk. It's essential, because almost as soon as the swap happened, quirks had started to misfire. For some reason, every single pro-hero in the school is convinced that whatever happened did not affect Aizawa. He gets dragged out of Aizawa's room by snipe in Gunhead's body for an emergency. He runs into All Might in Present Mic's body and Present Mic in All Might's body, and so on and so forth, and not one of the adults realize that he is not actually Aizawa. It's mildly disappointing, but Izuku can forgive the oversight since it seems everyone is disorientated and confused. Principal Nedzu, in Midnight's body, decides that classes will continue as usual, but physical exercises will be replaced with study period to limit quirk accidents. He makes it back to the dorm in time to prevent disaster; Uraraka in Bakugou's body had been about to slap her-Bakugou's face with sweaty nitroglycerin coated hands in a bid to "wake up" from this nightmare. He stood there, panicked, and heat rushes through his-Aizawa's eyes. Immediately, a hush falls over the dormitory when Uraraka- Bakugou, but it's Uraraka in Bakugou's body- Bakugou's hands meet his face with a loud slap but no explosion. He blinks, and the heat vanishes.
"Aizawa-sensei!" He's suddenly surrounded by his peers, clamoring for answers. It's a miracle, he thinks distantly, that there have been no major accidents yet, and fortunately, it appears none of his classmates have got his body. He needs to find out quickly before someone breaks his body by accident.
He goes for blunt truth. "Everyone in Yuuei has been body swapped. The staff is looking for solutions. Classes will continue as scheduled although physical training is temporarily suspended to limit the number of accidents."
He wades out of the sea of students and heads for the stairs.
Izuku reaches the correct door, knocks, and hears his own voice calling out, "Come in." He enters.
"Good morning," Izuku greets, "I apologize, but I have not been feeling well the past few days."
The person in his body sighs. "It would be you, Problem Child."
And Izuku knows immediately who is in his body.
"Everyone is convinced you were unaffected by the swap, Aizawa-sensei."
"Of course they think that. You have a tendency to become lethargic and apathetic when tired. You also become less verbose and start to slouch. All behaviors I display on a regular basis."
"Sensei. What do we do? I managed to activate your quirk just before Uraraka slapped herself in Bakugou's body, but that was luck!"
"Work it out," Aizawa said, closing his eyes. "Was there a staff meeting?"
"Ah, yes. Principal Nedzu has decided the best option is to continue like usual. The only difference is that physical training will be replaced with study period to prevent accidents."
"Then you will have to teach the class. My notes are on my desk. Left hand drawer, third from the top."
"Thank you, sensei."
"Just don't panic and start muttering, Problem Child."
"Yes Sensei."
"And don't talk to anyone if you don't need to."
"Yes Sensei."
"Class starts in an hour, Problem Child."
Izuku knows his teacher well enough to know the conversation, (and wasn't that strange, to have a conversation with someone else in his body?) is over, and he leaves his room and heads up to the teacher's rooms above the dorms. He studies the lesson plans in Aizawa's room, and tries to drown out the mental voice screaming at him that he was useless that this was never going to work just what did he think he was doing?! Because there's one thing he has learned during all those years of Hero Analysis with his mother, and that is that appearances must be kept, and Yuuei is firmly convinced that Aizawa Shouta is the only person on campus unaffected by whatever caused the bodyswap to happen.
He's admired Eraserhead for years and gotten the chance to analyze his teacher's behaviors and quirk up close and personal since starting Yuuei. If he keeps his head, and keeps his mouth shut, he can perpetuate that impression. Aizawa was right here, stuck in Izuku's currently sickly body, but he was available for advice if he needed it.
He can do this.
He hopes.
Part 2
Yamada Hizashi knows there is something severely wrong with his childhood friend. Shota's posture is straighter than it has been in years, and he looks briefly bewildered when brought into the impromptu emergency staff meeting. Whomever it was that was in Shota's body slinks through the meeting, eyes calculating, there is only the tiniest hint of hesitation before speaking, but he activates his quirk quickly enough before a misfire from Gunhead's quirk hurt someone. Shota seems no different from usual other than having slightly better posture than usual, but Hizashi is sure something is terribly wrong. Were they wrong? Had Shota been swapped as well?
"AH, AIZA-" All Might, in Hizashi's body goes silent as Shota glares at him, eyes gleaming red as his quirk activates. Several other members of the faculty laugh, rubbing their ears. This at least, is something familiar.
All Might stops trying to speak and waves Hizashi's hands in a contrite manner, his voice erased along with Hizashi's quirk. It's the most surreal thing to see, Hizashi thinks, All Might's smile and body language on his body. Shota blinks and turns away, scowling as Principal Nedzu enters the staff room. Or at least, his body. It's hilarious to see Gunhead in Nedzu's body because the man keeps tripping over the Principal's paws. Nemuri wobbles in, and it takes a moment after she speaks to realize, yes, that is Principal Nedzu in there. Shota is as quiet as usual but much more alert and when Nedzu asks for his opinion, he proposes the most logical possibility available, as always. Classes will continue as scheduled, although physical training will be replaced with study periods to prevent quirk accidents.
Hizashi watches as Shota slinks out of the conference as soon as it is over, all but power walking in the direction of the dormitories. He is almost tempted to accuse the Midoriya kid of being in Shota's body, but the boy is so skittish normally. Even if he did have the knowledge and analytical skills to manage it, his nervous demeanor would give the jig away right away. So maybe he's wrong, and it's just Shota being more alert than normal. It's going to be a very trying day after all.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aizawa opened an eye and glared irritably at the boisterous boy. Lucky? What the hell? His head was pounding like someone was taking a jackhammer to his skull and his nose was running like an out of control fire hose. The hero would feel bad for Midoriya if it weren't for the fact that the Problem Child was in his body while he suffered the brat's cold. On the other hand, at least he was getting to sleep. Or he would, if the other brats would stop barging in.
Kirishima winced and backtracked, "Well, yeah, I guess being sick sucks, but dude, Midoriya! You got a get out of class free card! That and you're still in your own body! We all have to figure out how to control each other's quirks!"
Aizawa pulled the covers over his head and grunted.
"Come on, Midoriya!" Kirishima yanked at the covers, "Come downstairs! You can't stay cooped up in here all the time stewing in your own germs! You'll never get better!"
Aizawa lifted an arm that felt like it weighed a million tons and threw one of Midoriya's pillows in the direction of the tugging, smirking at the squawk of indignation.
"Geez, Midoriya!" Kirishima laughed, "You're sure grouchy when sick! Your throw is as manly as ever. Alright! I'll just open a window to let in some air and someone will bring you breakfast!"
Kirishima tucked the thrown pillow under the unresisting but still glaring Aizawa's head, and made his way to the window. The boy managed to smack Tokoyami's face on a wall before opening the window as promised and left the room, miraculously managing to not injure his classmate's face any further.
Aizawa turned over and buried his face in the pillow, hiding from the cheerful sunshine, and tried to get some sleep before another over excited but well meaning brat came in.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Detention, Mineta," Aizawa-sensei had snapped as he made his way to the front. "Today we will go over the Laws covering Quirk Usage in public."
Part 3
24 Hours Before Body Swap
Bakugou was the first to notice it. Izuku's behaviors were fairly easy to predict, the other boy was, although few realized it, very prone to patterns. But when the normally cheerful boy slouches down from the dormitory, face flushed, and lips pressed together in a thin line, Bakugou knows immediately there is an explosion coming, and it was not because of his quirk. He races back upstairs for his tie. This was no time to be slovenly.
4 Hours into the Body Swap
"My beak is bruised," Tokoyami said drily, "Did you slam my face into every wall and door you encountered?"
"No," Bakugou sneered, "He was too loud."
"Dude, Bakubro!" Kirishima laughed, "Your expression totally doesn't match the face!"
"Shut up, Shitty Hair!" he snarled. "You don't know Deku like I do."
"Know him like you do?" Kirishima laughed, "Sure! Like, why did he throw a pillow at me? I swear I heard my neck crack on impact."
"Deku gets fucking mean when he's pissed, but he's outright vicious when he's sick," Bakugou said, "He literally has no more fucks to give. Probably some passive aggressive release of pent up anger, I don't know. But a sick Deku is sensitive to light and sound, and he will fuck your shit up if you go past his tolerance for bullshit which is is 9000% less than normal. If his normal reaction to stupidity is to flail wildly and squeal, his current reaction will be to hit it. He was fucking scary when we were kids, because quirk or no quirk, Deku's clever enough to be able to fuck shit up without laying a finger on you. Now that he has a quirk... well... I got on the wrong side of that once as kids, never again, not now that he has a fucking strength quirk."
"When you say he has no tolerance for bullshit," Yaoyorozu said, "What exactly do you mean?"
"You ever seen Aizawa's "I am so done" face before he throws Present Mic out the window?"
The class nodded. "And you guys remember All Might's face during the USJ Incident?"
The class nodded again. "Take those two, mash it together but ramp up the murder factor by a hundred and you've got Deku in a Shitty Mood."
A beat. "WHAAAAAAAATTTTTT?!!!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aizawa had hauled himself out of bed and gingerly picked his way across the slowly spinning room to make use of the attached toilet. His head was pounding like All Might was using it as a punching bag, and his joints all ached. He really couldn't blame the kid for being a grump all weekend if this was how he was feeling in all honesty. Thankfully, none of the students had come in since Kirishima had dropped off food in the form of rice porridge and grilled fish. He stared at the mirror as he washed his hands, frowning. The teenager had a lot of scars, to be expected from someone whose quirk broke his body every time he used it, but most were red and shiny, bearing all the hallmarks of burn scars. And those burn marks on Midoriya's arm look like... Like someone's hands exploded on him. He had a lot of those scars.
There were two possible culprits, but the age of the scars and the fact that they were the starburst of explosions immediately disqualified one. After that, there was only student he could think of who had a quirk that could explode and was acquainted with Midoriya long enough to have caused those scars. Aizawa frowned and turned-he froze and peered at the mirror out of the corner of his eyes. Holy... There were more marks on his back. Those starburst burn scars and... Did someone take a knife to the kid's back at some point? It looked like someone had taken a knife to the kid's back several times over the years. Holy shit.
How many times had the boy been attacked and said nothing?
He'd known there was bad blood between Midoriya and Bakugou, but from the looks of the kid's body, it appeared it was literal.
Once this mess was cleared up, he'd sit down with both boys and get to the bottom of this.
It would be really bad if Yuuei set loose a second, more violent, Endeavor onto the populace by allowing Bakugou to graduate with a hero license.
Midoriya's phone buzzed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Izuku holed up in the staff lounge, preparing the revised lesson plans Aizawa had prepared. No one looked at him twice, to his relief. Apparently, this was something Aizawa did often, working through the afternoon. Aizawa had already contacted his firm, letting them know that there was an incident in Yuuei and that he would not be available for patrol for the foreseeable future. Hopefully seven days would be enough.
"AIZA-" Izuku flinched and glared at All Might in Present Mic's body, activating Aizawa's quirk as he did so. He loved the man, he really did, All Might was the closest he'd ever had to a father, but the man, when putting up a front, was bad at regulating volume on a good day. Having him try the same tactic in Present Mic's body was a literal disaster.
"Mind your volume," he hissed. Seriously! He was tired since Aizawa's body had serious issues with insomnia and his joints, particularly the elbow that Shigaraki had destroyed during the USJ incident, ached. The fine bones around his sinuses throbbed with the beginnings of a migraine, and to make things worse, his eyes were dry and scratchy, and not being able to blink was not helping! No wonder Aizawa was so grumpy most of the time. He blinked and looked away as All Might smiled and waved his hands sheepishly.
"Oh man," Midnight in Cementoss's body sighed, "After the day of weirdness, it's good to see something stay the same."
Izuku closed his eyes before turning back to the tablet. Ah. Aizawa was responding now, that was good. All Izuku needed to do was transcribe the meeting for him.
"OI!!! SHOUTA!!!" Izuku flinched as All Might's booming tones slammed into his eardrums. Aizawa's quirk activated on reflex again, only this time, Izuku threw a tendril of capture weapon at the offending noise maker, wrapping it around Present Mic-All Might's face, effectively gagging him.
"Mind. Your. Volume." he hissed, as the capture weapon fell away. He wanted to silence the man, not suffocate him, and it was a possibility since Present Mic wasn't used to functioning with only one lung like All Might was.
"Right oh!" Present Mic laughed, "Sorry about that!"
Izuku huffed out a sigh and printed out the papers and left the staff lounge. Clearly he would get nothing done there. He paused around the corner and shook his head. No wonder Aizawa spent so much time in the classroom. It was strange to think, but apparently his classmates were more mature than their teachers! Or maybe that was just the chaos of the body swap getting everyone over excited.
Either way. The staff lounge was currently as bad as the Common Area in the dormitories on a Saturday Night.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What he encounters on his way down to 1-A enrages him.
Mineta is soaring out the open window of the girl's restroom toward the lake in the center of the campus before the red haze fades and Izuku realizes what he's just done.
Holy shit. He's just chucked a student out the window hard enough to send him-there is a loud splash-across half the school. The surface tension of water has the consistency of concrete if you hit it at terminal velocity.
Holy mother fucking shit. He may just have killed Mineta. He needs to talk to Aizawa. Fast.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the staffroom:
"Hey guys?" Cementoss said, "I think Aizawa just threw a student out a window."
"Holy shit, he hasn't done that in a while," Hizashi sighed.
"I guess this whole mess has got him bothered too," Snipe chuckled.
Part 4
It turns out that Mineta, in his panic at being chucked out the window, fired off Aoyama's naval laser. In fact, figuring out how to fire the thing was probably what saved his life. Powerloader, in Blood King's body, had fished him out of the lake, and escorted him back to the school. Izuku is immeasurably relieved. Aizawa, when told about the incident, just looks amused.
"Breathe, kid,God it's weird calling you kid when you're in my body" he said dryly, "You're not in trouble. I have a reputation for throwing people out windows when startled."
"But-"
Aizawa rolled his eyes, "Believe me, all you've done is cement the idea in everyone Else's heads that I've not been affected by this mess. Don't worry about it." Izuku's eyes glinted mischievously and Aizawa added, "Feel free to throw more people out windows. Work off some of your frustration. Just hold off throwing any more students out windows. Even I can't explain that away."
Izuku laughed quietly. Aizawa grinned, his lopsided grin looking weird and out of place on Izuku's face.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gunhead was sure that he was getting a hang of walking on two paws. Once he could get around without tripping, Nedzu decided that they would carry on like normal. Gunhead would still give his presentation about the importance of self discipline in the use and training of their quirks and in all forms of heroics, but after, he would stay in Yuuei until the situation was resolved.
He glanced over at Eraserhead, who was glowering at his devices. The bags under his eyes were more prominent than ever, and Gunhead couldn't blame him. Everyone was relying on Eraserhead to get to the bottom of this as he was the only person who had not been swapped. Self discipline was something Eraserhead excelled at, the occasional incident of defenestration of students aside. The day however, was clearly wearing on the man, and Both Recovery Girl and Present Mic both were worried about his overusing his quirk. Considering the number of near misses today, there was no doubt that Eraserhead's levelheadedness was a godsend. Imagine if whomever was in the body of the boy with the explosive quirk slapped someone in the face and accidentally set of an explosion in the process! The poor child would be traumatized and whoever was on the receiving end would most likely be a full head shorter.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monoma was not happy. He had wound up in the body of some gen-ed student with a thoroughly useless quirk. The girl could light her hair on fire. That was it. He slammed the lunch tray on the table and glared over at 1-A who had all somehow managed to swap within their class. They were to blame, he just knew it.
"Monoma!" Tetsutetsu, in some random student's body shrieked, "You're bleeding!"
"What?" Monoma looked down and was horrified to see a thin trail of red running down his leg. "What is this?!" he shrieked as his hair burst into flames.
"Ok, ok, no need to panic," Kendou, in Pony's body strode over, "You're just menstruating. Let's get you cleaned up."
"Shut up!" Monoma shrieked, "I don't need yo---ourph!!!"
A curl of fabric wound itself around the lower half of Monoma's face, silencing him. 1-A's teacher strode into view looking thoroughly displeased, his quirk active. "Go get cleaned up" he growled, "and keep control of your emotions unless you want to set the school on fire." The fabric released Monoma and looped back around the man's shoulders as he stalked away.
Humiliated, Monoma allowed Kendou to guide him out of the cafeteria.
This was all 1-A's fault. It HAD to be!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tsuyu always spoke her mind. It didn't really matter that she was in Iida's body. The oddity of having something dangling between her legs was weird, but not really something strange. It was harder to get comfortable sitting on the ground though, because Iida's legs were built differently. But other than the impromptu gender change, it was just another human body. She just had to be careful not to activate Iida's quirk in the building. She wouldn't want to accidentally crash through a window or a wall.
"I think it was done intentionally, Ribbit," she said to Aoyama in Hagakure's body, "otherwise, why would sensei and Izuku be the only ones not affected?"
Aizawa-sensei stepped out of a nearby classroom, and Tsuyu and Aoyama bowed briefly in greeting before continuing on. Aizawa-sensei's footsteps were as cat light as usual, but there was a slight hitch, as of he were second guessing each footstep.
Tsuyu frowned. "Is is possible Aizawa-sensei was affected too?" she wondered out loud.
"Isn't it more likely he pulled something when throwing Mineta out the window?" Aoyama asked, "My body is a lot larger, and therefore much heavier, than Mineta's body."
Tsuyu nodded. "That makes sense, Ribbit."
Part 5
BODY SWAP DAY 2
"You screwed up!" an infuriated female voice shrieked, "You were supposed to swap everyone in the school!"
"I did!" an equally angry male voice shouted, "They're all swapped!"
"Not Eraserhead!"
"That's not possible!"
"You fucked up!"
"That's impossible!"
"Well then why is Eraserhead still in his body?! You fucked up!"
"Even if Eraserhead managed to not get switched, he is but one man. What harm can he do?"
"Don't JINX IT!!!!!!!!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Izuku prowled through the emptied hallways of the school, checking that everything was in order, that doors and windows that needed to be locked were locked and lights were switched off, tasks that had been left to him since, "As the only teacher not switched around, we'll leave that to you," Nedzu had said cheerfully. Izuku felt an eyebrow twitch at the memory.
Izuku sighed as he locked the doors of the main building and made his way toward the training grounds. He paused.
"I've got you now!"
Izuku lunged to the side, rolled(Bless Aizawa-sensei's dedication to training and the man's own muscle memory) to his knees and his head came up glaring, quirk active. His attacker lunged forward, overreaching in a clumsy punch. Izuku didn't even try to deflect, sliding to the side and stretching out a foot, tripping the villain down the stairs.
"No I don't think so," a second figure lunged at him, "You're not getting off so easily!" He passed under a lamp as he did so and Izuku recognized the face.
Izuku twisted out of reach, flinging out two strands of the capture weapon. Seconds later, both villains were tied up and Izuku frowned, recognizing the two faces as belonging to students.
"Clumsy and slow," he scolded, channeling as much of his irritation from the day into his voice as possible. "Clever to use students to get in, but not clever enough. Were you hoping to use a student's copy quirk on me?"
The villains, one wearing the face of a gen-ed student who had an minor telekinetic quirk (Banishment of Small Objects, if he recalled a conversation from the early days of the school year correctly) and the other, Monoma from Class 1-B, glared at him.
"Too bad. Not good enough."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"One night was all it took," Midnight squealed, "to be expected of you, Shouta!"
"Don't do that," Izuku determinedly did not look in her direction. Seeing Cementoss squirm like a fangirl in full Squee was decidedly strange.
Midnight pouted. "But SHOOOOUUUUUTTTAAAAAA~"
"Don't pout," he sighed, "Ishiyama doesn't have the lips for that."
Detective Naomasa smirked at him as he pocketed his notebook. "Well then, Aizawa-sensei," he said, "Thank you for your help. We'll bring the two students in when they switch back, or once we find out where they stashed the kids."
"We appreciate it," Nedzu said.
"I will escort Detective Naomasa out," Izuku pushed off the wall and ambled toward the door.
Naomasa followed him. "So... A bodyswap huh?" he said cheerfully as they crossed the courtyard toward the gate, "Does this mean you know where Aizawa-sensei actually is, Midoriya-kun?"
"He's enjoying several days bed rest," Izuku said, slouching, "I've had a cold for a few days so I don't know how restful that will be for him with Kirishima's enthusiasm."
Naomasa nodded in understanding, "Well. I suppose he's also enjoying the chaos, or the two of you would have let the staff know that you were switched as well."
"Of course," Izuku threw his head back and allowed his teacher's facial muscles twist into the wild, crooked expression that came naturally and cried out, "It was all just a logical ruse!"
Naomasa chuckled. "I'm glad you're having fun."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Monoma from 1-B and a Gen-Ed student with Banishment of Small Objects?" Aizawa frowned. "Clever, but in the long run, useless." He paused to cough and Izuku passed him a glass of water.
"Whatever the reason, the attack was amateurish a best," Izuku said, "But..."
"They went after the one teacher everyone believed was not switched," Aizawa sipped the water thoughtfully. "Be careful, Problem Child. This might not be as benign as we thought."
Izuku felt a chill go down his spine.
Part 6
Izuku barely recognizes himself in the way Aizawa-sensei carries himself. His teacher had dragged himself, aching bones, stiff joints, sniffly nose and all down into the common area, where in the communal kitchen, he was making tea.
“Sensei,” Izuku said, “Do you need help?”
Aizawa-sensei shook his head mutely, and shuffled over to the sofa where he slouched over a cup of rice porridge and green tea. Izuku leaves him to it and goes to check on the 1-B dorms like Blood King-sensei had asked him to earlier. As the teenager leaves, he realizes that he’s going to have some issues not calling his teachers by their given names once this is over. He hopes that Mic-sensei and All Might will appreciate the joke when the time comes, because even Izuku can see that by not telling the other teachers that he and Aizawa-sensei had swapped, that they were taking a terrible risk with not only their own safety, but everyone in the school who thought Aizawa-Sensei was still himself.
---
When Izuku patrols Yuuei as Aizawa-sensei, he has to deliberately force his attention to wander; swinging his attention from one thing to the other, using all the tricks he learned in Orudera to evade his bullies to be on the lookout for anything unusual that may have entered the school. He can’t afford to hyperfocus, can’t afford to start analyzing how Aizawa-sensei’s skin and muscles shift and contract, can’t afford to analyze how Aizawa-sensei’s gait reflects the exercises and flexibility that the man has cultivated. If he starts to hyperfocus, if he allows himself the luxury of analysis, he will start muttering, and muttering is very much a Midoriya Izuku trait and Aizawa-sensei might just kill him for giving away the game, body swapped or not.
---
Kendo sighed as Monoma was dragged away by yet another teacher for belligerent behavior. She hoped Aizawa-sensei could get to the bottom of this soon, because if Monoma continued like this, someone would kill him out of frustration. Most likely one of their classmates.
---
Aizawa jerked awake with a sneeze and groaned as the headache in his temples intensified and his throat spasmed as if he’d just swallowed a mouthful of glass. The Problem Child really was the sort to be Plus Ultra about everything; even getting sick.
Headache and scratchy throat or no, Aizawa relished the ease with which he drifted off into sleep. It was something he hadn’t had since he’d graduated from school. Teenagers really did have it good...
Ah, bliss…
---
“I’m almost sure that Aizawa didn’t get out of this unscathed,” Midnight said in the teacher’s lounge, where the bodyswapped teachers and one guest had been gathered with tea and non alcoholic drinks. “He’s been acting oddly. And no one has seen the Midoriya kid since this whole thing started!”
“Young Midoriya is ill!” All Might rebutted, “It’s understandable that he would want to stay in his room and rest!”
The entire room winced as All Might’s control slipped and Hizashi’s quirk amplified the last few words.
“In either case,” Cementoss said, shaking his head in a futile attempt to stop the ringing in his ears-Hounddog’s ears were appropriately sensitive so slip-ups on All Might’s part affected him particularly badly- “It doesn’t seem like Aizawa has changed at all to me. Perhaps I am biased since I have not known him as long or as well as you do, Kayama, but that detective-Maomasa, I believe?”
“Naomasa!” All Might boomed.
Cementoss winced, “Yes, Naomasa-san has a truthtelling quirk. Surely he would have mentioned if Aizawa were actually the Midoriya boy playing a part?”
“Ishiyama has a point, you know?” Ectoplasm said, “If Detective Naomasa has not said anything, then it must be Aizawa. I don’t see a police officer being the type to knowingly put a child in danger.”
Midnight sighed, “Fine… But I still say he’s acting fishy.”
“Please don’t pout, Kayama,” Cementoss said, “My face isn’t made for that expression.”
“But I’m bored!!!!” Midnight whined.
The door suddenly slammed open, and Aizawa appeared in the doorway, shoving in a student. “Your student, your problem,” the Erasing Hero growled, “If I catch this brat trying to get into my students’ costume lockers again, I am throwing him off the tower roof, Kan.”
Blood King groaned and rubbed his-Recovery Girl’s forehead. “Monoma-kun, why are you like this? And at a time like this, too...”
---
Aizawa chuckled, “I’ve never outright threatened to throw a student off the tower before, Problem Child. The faculty are going to start thinking I’m overworked at the rate you’re going.”
Izuku winced. “Sorry, sir.”
“Don’t be,” Aizawa muttered, “You’re not doing anything I wouldn’t.” He frowned at the lesson plan and pulled Izuku’s textbook closer and squinted at the words. “Have you considered getting an eye exam, kid?”
Izuku grinned, crooked and wild, “No. You can’t see because you’re leaning so much that your nose is touching the page, sensei.”
Aizawa sat up straight and blinked blearily at his student. “Not a word.”
“No, sensei,” Izuku agreed, still grinning, “Not a peep.”
“Brat,” Aizawa muttered.
Part 7 - The End
Shouta’s relief is almost palpable when he woke up on the morning of the third day to find that not only was his sore throat gone, but the headache is gone and his nasal passages have been unblocked. The amount of mucus the Problem Child’s body expels is ridiculous though. He ventures down stairs, no longer wobbly on his feet, and he’s sure that his sniffling is a sure herald of his presence to all the kids of his presence. He’s a little bit miffed though. He’s more alert than has been the norm since this whole bodyswap fiasco began, but Bakugou still flinches away from him…
He immediately understands why when Kaminari throws an arm around his shoulders and the heat radiating off the kid sets his shoulders on fire. It’s pure reflex that has him sliding a foot back and throwing the blonde idiot over his shoulder.
“Idiot,” Bakugou sneers, “I told you it’s too early for all that touchy feely crap just yet.”

Izuku groaned as Naomasa arrived at Yuuei again. His eyes burned and he had a headache that was only exacerbated by both All Might and Present Mic’s chronic inability to control their volume. He absolutely did not want to hear about villains today.
Naomasa grinned, “Are they giving you a hard time, Midoriya-kun?”
“I’m amazed by how dense everyone is,” Izuku groused.
“People see only what they want to see,” the detective agreed. “Anyway, I’m here with the fruits of your labor, the results of the interrogations.”
“Oh rapturous joy.”
Naomasa grinned. He’d never known that Midoriya had a sarcastic streak, but being in his teacher’s body seemed to bring out the snarker in the teen.
---
Izuku entered the dorm to find chaos. He blinked slowly.
“Care to explain why Kaminari is on fire?”
Kaminari looked sheepish, an expression that was somewhat foreign on Todoroki’s face. “Hot leg hot leg leg hot enough to fry an egg?”
“Alright…” Izuku wondered why he was even surprised when Kaminari was involved. The other boy was not the brightest bulb in the box. “So what is wrong with Todoroki?”
“He forgot that he was in Kaminari’s body,” Uraraka said, “I think he was trying to freeze the fire Kaminari started.”
Which would explain why Todoroki was unconscious. He must have tried to use his ice quirk, and having forgotten, would have fried his brain on accident. Which was fascinating, because would this affect Todoroki’s IQ as well? Or would the brain damage stay in Kaminari’s body?
Uraraka shuffled her feet, looking decidedly uncomfortable, and Izuku realized he was grinning in that unsettling way Aizawa was prone to.
“We’re sorry?” Kaminari said uncertainly.
Izuku sighed again. Right. Dealing with his classmates. He’s never paid much attention to his classmates’ antics before, but now that he was playing the part of an authority figure, he couldn't help but wonder why his classmates all seemed to be comprised of idiots.
He entered the elevator and on the second floor, he encountered Yaoyorozu, who was currently in Mashirao Ojiro’s body and Ojiro, who was in Mezo Shoji’s body was arguing with both Yaoyorozu and Mina Ashido, who was in Yaoyorozu’s body. The reason for the argument? Yaoyorozu wanted to wear her own clothes but Ojiro was a completely different body type, so she wanted Mina to make clothes to fit. But Mina was of the opinion that Yaoyorozu should not dress up Ojiro’s body without his permission. While Ojiro was not opposed to Yaoyorozu clothing his body in dresses and skirts, he also wanted a minimum length requirement, some of which the two girls were adamant would not be flattering.
“Compromise,” Izuku said gruffly. He rubbed his temples as the elevator churned back to life. How had their class not driven Aizawa to drink yet?
(“Trust me, Problem Child, I ask myself that question everyday,” Aizawa said dryly, “Your class has given me more white hairs in a single year than ten years of heroics.”
“Sorry, Sensei.”
“What have I said about apologizing?”
“If I had nothing to do with it, I will not be assigned any blame, so no apologies are necessary.”
“Engrave that in your skull, kiddo. I can’t believe All Might hasn’t done anything about your nonexistent self esteem yet.”
“Sensei, I have plenty of self esteem.”
“Well you do now.”)

Roughly five days after this whole mess began, a solution was found. Well, less of a solution and more of a reason for the entire mess. Izuku sat in the meeting with Principal Nedzu, Naomasa, the two intruders in student bodies and one adult. A known villainess, a thief by trade, who went by the moniker of Clover.
The story behind the campus wide body swap was fairly simple, the reasoning was sound, and the plan was much much too convoluted. In the end, Izuku just wanted to beat his head on the table. He was sure, if Aizawa was here, he’d feel the same.
“Why?” he sighed. “Why didn’t you just ask? That would have saved so much trouble.”
The villainess, the sole adult of the group, twitched nervously. “We’re *villains*.” she said as if speaking to a particularly slow child.
Izuku rubbed his-Aizawa’s-temples, trying to stave off the forming headache. “You had, at the time, done nothing wrong. Yet,” he pointed out, “and up until the police got involved, no one would have had any idea you were anything *but* random civilians caught in a quirk misfire.” Izuku rolled his eyes wearily, “Even villains and their children have the right to request and expect assistance in the case of a quirk misfire.”

In the end, even Aizawa’s Quirk couldn’t undo the bodyswap.
“Guess we just have to wait for it to wear off!” Nedzu said cheerfully.
“I am ecstatic,” Izuku deadpanned. “Absolutely dancing with joy.”
---
The morning of the seventh day, Izuku was reading off a sheet of paper the class announcements of upcoming events when he was struck by a sudden sense of vertigo. Between one blink and the next, he opened his eyes to find himself curled up under bedcovers. He stuck his head out and blinked at the familiar four walls and ceiling of his dormitory. His throat and nose itched, and his eyes were heavy. He left the bed for the restroom and stared at his own face in the mirror.
“I’m back?”
---
A mandatory counselling session was required for every person affected by the body swap.
Izuku sat in the empty classroom, a glass of warm milk in front of him as Aizawa downed freshly brewed coffee like it was going out of style.
“It’s a shame All Might got to you first,” Aizawa muttered, “You’d have made a helluva infiltrator.”
Izuku smiled, “No I wouldn’t. I have anxiety.”
Aizawa shook his head, lips twitching. Yeah, he was anxious alright.
